These seder plates are used during the Passover seder meal to hold the key elements of the seder. The gold word in the middle says, “Pesach,” and means Passover in Hebrew. Then, beginning to the right of Pesach and moving counter-clockwise, the Hebrew reads, “z’roa,” “charoset,” “chazeret,” “karpas,” “baytza,” and in the middle is “maror.” In English, these are, in the same order, the shank bone, an apple-honey-nut mixture called charoset, lettuce or a horseradish root, parsley, a roasted egg, and bitter herbs, which is usually a prepared horseradish.
Many people use plastic liners with their seder plates to preserve the plate itself. Then all you have to do is wash the liners, and put the whole set away for the following year.

The words on this glass seder plate are the same, only in a different order. The word in the middle is Pesach, then from the 1:00 position they read, “z’roa,” “chazeret,” “charoset,” “karpas,” “maror,” and “baytzah.” In the background is a seder table scene.
