Cuba 2010
We have been blessed to be able to put together this 9-day trip into Havana, Cuba, to train pastors in Messianic Judaism, and Messianic Jewish leadership. During our time in Cuba, each morning will start with worship and devotions. The first few days will include leadership training, divided into 3 or 4 1-hour sessions each day. The afternoons will see a women’s training course, and visitation to homes in the area. Friday evening, we will conduct a Passover celebration that will highlight the Messiah in the Feast of the Passover. And Saturday’s highlight will be spending the day with the children, hosting a baseball tournament, and ministering to the youth. It will culminate in a multi-cultural worship celebration.
Sunday is time with the house churches, and we will do mikva’ot (baptisms) in the ocean in the afternoon. Jonathan Settel will be giving a concert on Sunday evening, along with his testimony, which will be a powerful time. On Monday, leadership training will continue. Then in the evening, we will divide into teams and do our Passover seder presentations in the house churches. On Tuesday, we will visit Old Havana, and the hope is that we will be able to visit the old synagogue there. We will have some free time in the afternoon, and we hope to be able to spend some time at the beach. Wednesday we will bring all the classes to a close, for both the men’s classes and the ladies classes. The afternoon will be kept faily open in order for us to follow up with people that we have made contacts with during the week. Then on Thursday we will be heading home.
We are also planning on bringing humanitarian relief with us. For a list of items that we need, click here.
