Children's Ministry
At Kehilat Sar Shalom we have a heart for leading children to sit and learn at our Savior’s feet. We desire to introduce each child to God’s mighty deeds and His great love for His people; to teach them a love for the LORD and His Word; and to help them hide God’s Word in their hearts. At the same time we want to be His hands and feet by pouring out God’s love in each of their lives. We recognize the divine command to parents in Deuteronomy 6 to instruct their children in the ways of the Lord. The Children’s Ministry seeks to provide an environment that reinforces these godly principles and provides a sense of community and encouragement for living out our Messianic faith.
The Children’s Ministry offers nursery care as well as classes for children ages 0 to 12. Each week the children study a Scripture portion, play games, sing songs, and learn the basic elements of Messianic faith in a Yeshua-centered, Torah-observant setting. In the nursery we introduce Bible stories and characters through play, music, and story time. The Kindershul class continues to help the children become familiar with the Bible stories and characters, while also highlighting Messianic observances and basic Hebrew. In our Shabbat School class we focus on major Biblical themes—salvation, prayer, Torah observance, the Moedim—and help the kids to understand the basic concepts of congregational life and belief in order to prepare them for Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Ultimately, our goal is to train up disciples that are willing and able to serve the Kingdom.
All of our children’s ministry volunteers are screened and have background checks on file.
